A Veteran's Promise: We've Got Your Back

Did you know there are VA benefits that can pay for home care?

Many wartime veterans and their surviving spouses qualify for a VA pension with Aid and Attendance, which can help pay for care at home. Most families have never heard of it.

Sheridan In-Home Care now offers the VetAssist Program to help veterans apply for this benefit and start receiving home care right away. For those who qualify, it can mean in-home care with no out-of-pocket cost.

No waiting

Care starts now, not months from now

The VA can take up to six months to approve an Aid and Attendance claim. VetAssist covers that gap with an interest-free loan, so care can begin while the claim is processed.

  1. We help you apply

Our team prepares your application and gathers the military and other records the VA requires.

  2. Care begins right away

An interest-free loan pays for home care while the VA reviews your claim.

  3. The VA approves

Benefits are paid retroactively to the date your application was filed.

  4. The loan is repaid

Retroactive VA funds repay the loan, and your ongoing benefit continues to pay for care.

What is Aid and Attendance?

Most people know the VA compensates veterans who were injured or disabled during service. Far fewer know that the VA also pays a pension to wartime veterans who do not have a service-connected disability. Aid and Attendance is an additional amount added to that pension for veterans or surviving spouses who need help with everyday activities to live safely at home.
