Sheridan Care is a member of The Senior's Choice Network, the nations largest membership network of companion care providers for senior citizens. Sheridan Care is independently owned and operated by Susan Dost, President and CEO. Together with her dedicated staff of in-home care professionals, we offer affordable help to families caring for elderly loved ones by providing compassionate, professional care-giving. Our personalized services are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, throughout the greater LA county including Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, West L.A./Los Angeles area, including Orange County.

All of our Caregivers and Personal Care Managers are employees of Sheridan In-Home Care. They are thoroughly screened, bonded and insured and we perform extensive reference, criminal and DMV checks. They must come to us with a minimum of five years experience and impeccable references. We only employ the "A" list. As employees of Sheridan Care, our caregivers are totally committed, highly qualified and carefully selected individuals. Most importantly they are dependable, warm and caring people. We chose only the people that we would want taking care of our own families.

Susan has completed comprehensive training on priority senior issues conducted by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors. She has taken the educational initiative to become a professional leader in meeting the key needs and issues concerning mature adults. As a Certified Senior Advisor and President of Sheridan Care, she personally meets every client and assess each family's needs.

Loretta comes to Sheridan Care with over 19 years of diverse experience in administrative, clerical and technical positions providing exceptional patient care and stellar customer service. Loretta liaises directly with our A List staff and wonderful clients matching one with the other. She handles every aspect of our every growing business and provides seamless transitions for clients and staff alike.

Liz comes to us with nearly 10 years of experience in the Home Health and Medical field. She is innovative and extremely charismatic and courageous when it comes to getting the word out about Sheridan Care. Our caregivers are wonderful, compassionate people who have had formal training either through a Certified Nursing course (CNA), Home Health Aid (HHA) or our very own Certified Companion Aid (CCA®) course. They all come to us with at least five years verifiable experience working with mature adults and they must be kind, loving people. Everyone is personally interviewed by either Fahey, Loretta or Susan-or sometimes all three of us. It takes a truly special person to be a caregiver and we pursue only the A List of individuals.

Experience and training can be taught and our ongoing quest to introduce new techniques is always available to them but most importantly they must have a kind heart, and giving spirit. That is not something that can be taught, it is an intrinsic part of a gifted caregiver. Our caregiver's are these kind of people. They are in your home to care for you, and your family members-we only send you someone that we would want looking after our loved ones.

After we do the initial assessment in your home or at the facility we come back to the office and compile the intangibles and characteristics of who you'd like to have in your home. We take that information and chose a qualified person who fits the bill. We will then bring someone back to meet you before we begin services. After about 2 or 3 weeks, we will ask that you fill out a Quality Assessment Survey on their performance and your level of satisfaction. At any time we are available to you and your caregiver, simply call the office.

Most of our caregivers have been with us since the company was established in 2001. We originally had classified ads, but since 2003 we haven't had a need. Caregivers throughout Los Angeles, want to work for Sheridan Care. They have heard from other qualified care managers that we have wonderful clients, benefits and abilities to earn top pay. Aside from that, we have the greatest respect for our staff and frequently give them bonuses, incentives and recognition. We look after our staff so they will look after you. Quality, compassion and consistency are our goals.

We use two methods of research to find out about their performance and their background. We ensure they have valid work permission and we complete a national criminal background check. We then call references-clients they have worked for over the past 5 years and personally speak to them and/or family members. We ask questions such as: how long did Loretta work for you? Was she on time? Did you find her personality to be a fit with your family member/s? Was she knowledgeable about care giving? What was her cooking like? Did you trust her in your home while you were away? Did you feel safe riding the car with her? What would you say her strengths are and what (if any) are her weaknesses?
